Delicious meals, great prices, a great venue, live bands, pokkies, lovely outdoor seating, allowing a view of the passing world, and street view. Still serve wonderful meals with very good serving sizes. Meals arrived promptly and beautifully cooked. Chooses of Steaks with prawn toppers with an array of sauces served on a bed of crispy fries accompanied by a yummy salad with a tasty dressing. Best Meals in Town by a mile.

I haven't stayed in the rooms, but I've eaten at the Slipway many times. The meals are well cooked and very reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and happy. It's always a pleasure to spend time there.

Greatest Veal Snitz ever!! Had 2 now , 1 year apart , weren’t no fluke! Best in Oz . I’ve been everywhere man. Top stuff 🤙

On my recent visit, I indulged in their 200g rump steak, which has quickly become my favorite go-to dish. Priced at an unbeatable $16, this steak was tender and cooked to perfection, making every bite a delight. I opted for the extra serve of fresh vegetables for an additional $4, and it was well worth it. The veggies were crisp and complemented the steak beautifully, rounding out my meal with a healthy touch. My wife couldn't resist trying the chicken schnitzel, which was equally impressive—crispy, juicy, and generously portioned, making it a great choice for those with a hearty appetite. The accompanying chips were perfectly seasoned and had a delightful crunch, providing a fantastic foundation for the meal. One of the standout features was having beers from Seven Mile Brewing (Ballina's local brewery) on tap. I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of schooners of their Cali Cream, the perfect refreshing complement to my steak. The combination of local craft beer and a well-cooked meal made for an enjoyable afternoon. It is not fancy, its really pretty basic but sitting at the pub I appreciated the vibrant atmosphere that comes from being right on River Street. It’s the ideal spot to people-watch and soak in the hustle and bustle of this charming coastal town. The Slipway Hotel offers not just great food and drinks but also a cozy, local vibe that feels welcoming and genuine. In summary, the Slipway Hotel Pub in Ballina is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a delicious, inexpensive lunch. The bistro meals are unbeatable value. Friendly service and no wait times even though all the tables were full. Perfect steak every time. The chicken schnitzel nearly bigger than the plate. The whole family was happy! Even won a couple of bucks on Keno.

We popped in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the very friendly service from the young staff member. Food come out super quick, was very tasty and above all affordable!

Rooms are adequate nothing special but clean and tidy. Some ladies who clean rooms are very nice. We were told they were to busy to change our sheets when we had Been there for a week lady said she was to busy to do it. Ladies changed the next day when asked.
